A Bad Purchase

As many of you know, I don't like to spend money. I am always spending lots of time on the phone calling around to see if I can get the same thing for cheaper. I never get "happy meals" - we just split stuff, and we always drink water! Cheap, huh? (although I have gotten a lot better after being married to Kenny who teaches me that sometimes your time is more important than the money - which I have learned is true.....just sometimes!!)

I saw this counter-height square table with 8 chairs at Sams for a pretty good deal. I really wanted to get it because I thought it would fit better in our dining area (square rather than rectangular) and I knew we would soon be needing more than 6chairs for our family. After convincing Kenny, he let me get it. I felt okay about it because we sold our 1st table for a good amount and then got back some free "rewards" money from our credit card. So overall, it really didn't cost anything....well, except the fact that we got rid of a really durable, solid wood table. After about a month we both decided it wasn't making the cut. Even though it looked nice, the quality wasn't that great and there was this constant film across the top of the table that could be seen very well with the lighting. Sam's told me they would refund my money, so Kenny took it apart on Saturday and I hauled it back up there. And now...this is sitting in it's place until we can go out and find another one. I could just kick myself!

You really got my day off to a great start. I know I should not laugh at the misfortunes of others, but your story is too funny.Remember, it only costs a little more to go first class. Kristi< you are the best and don't ever forget it.

I need to hide this post from Rhett cuz I'm thinking he'd read it and want to marry you instead!! hahahahah!! i hope you find something just like it. check out designer's choice. They are pretty much like an outlet and would have a great table like the one you had. i'll go shopping with you just say the word! hilarious!

Oh, how sad! I was hoping that table would work out for you. It looked really nice. That's the horrible thing about buying stuff these days, the quality is always lacking. I hope you find a good deal on another table soon!
