Get your Life Organized!

Has anyone ever heard of the Fly Lady? I just heard about her and her website which is www.flylady.com - it is amazing and has some great ideas on organizing your life, organizing your house, and how to get your kids to do it too! She uses little "egg timers" and the concept is you can do anything for 5 minutes. Then she puts you on a morning, afterschool, and before bedtime routine. I thought we already had certain routines down, but she has helped me to see how I can tweak it and make it even more effective! I am going out today to buy my older children their own timers! Go check it out!

Does that apply to exercising, too? I think I could exercise for 5 minutes with a timer!

I love this too! I need to get back to doing more of her program. We're actually going to use some of it as an enrichment activity!

I had a friend recently tell me about flylady as well, I should have told you, but I was still trying to navigate her site an absorb the plethora of information on there. It is amazing, huh?

we used to do that when watching tv---the minute a commercial came on we would rush around the house picking up anything & everything---then be back by the time the commercial ended...always got the kids excited to see how much they could get done.
we also had them "pick up their age"---if they were 5 they had to put away 5 things, if they were 12, then 12 things----you do whatever it takes to keep them interested and enthused.

I discovered her about 3 years ago and I love her. Ben thinks I am now OCD because I will not go to bed unless all of the dishes are cleared from the sink and my kitchen is clean. It does not always happen in the rest of the house, but I cannot wake up and get three kids off to school with a dirty kitchen.

Enjoy browsing her site. It has a ton of neat info and cleaning tips.

I heard about her site about a few years ago. There is quite a bit of information on it! It is definitely a help... I haven't looked at it in a while! I'll have to get back to it when we come home to the USA and have to clean my own house again!
